The principal areas of Institute’s research activities are:

– the study of physico-chemical and molecular-and-biological patterns of growth, development and resistance of plant systems; elaboration of new technologies and biotechnologies on this basis;

– comprehensive studies of photosynthesis, mineral nutrition of plants, biologic nitrogen fixation, possibility of using biologically active substances; substantiation of new intensive technologies of cultivation and storage of agricultural production;

– research into genetic mechanisms in order to develop principles of managing the hereditary variability of living beings, maintenance and rational use of gene pools; the development of genetic and physiologic fundamentals for plant breeding;

– the development of scientific principles for breeding highly productive technological varieties and hybrids of crops through novel approaches; their introduction into agricultural practice.

Science schools functioning at the Institute:

experimental mutagenesis and theoretical principles of plant breeding; molecular genetics; physiological role of macro- and microelements; physiology of plant growth and development; physiology and ecology of photosynthesis.

The Institute offers for cooperative introduction:

varieties and hybrids of winter wheat, rye, triticale and maize of its own selection; new competitive highly effective strains of nodulating bacteria and bacterial fertilizers, mixtures of herbicides.
