A Center’s resolution identified the following basic and applied research areas:
– Elaboration of technologies for organs, tissues and cells storage in cryobanks; their application in medicine;
– Cell transplantation. Studying the mechanisms of its action on human organism and finding efficient methods for treatment of various diseases;
– Cryotherapy and cryosurgery of pathological states in humans;
– Development of novel medical preparations using materials of animal origin;
– Designing cryomedical equipment.
Nowadays unique fundamental and applied studies are carried out in the abovementioned study areas.
‘Haemoneuronal’, a new combined immunobiological preparation based on embryonic hepatic and neuronal cells has been developed and introduced to medical practice.
Center’s researchers study biological properties of cryopreserved cells and tissues of fetoplacental origin and the validity of their use in medicine.
A technique for obtaining and using haemopoietic cells and cord blood has been elaborated.
Fundamental and applied studies are carried out towards developing the ‘washing-out’ method of long-term storage of whole cord blood with the aim of its application for treatment of various diseases in children.
Methods have been created for improving the therapeutic efficiency of preparations of fetoplacental complex and cord blood by the directed change of permeability of histohematic barriers by means of rhythmic hypothermic cold effects and extreme cryotherapy.
All elaborations are of high level and can be introduced to practice.
