Main lines of research:

– biocolloid chemistry of natural and synthetic disperse systems and materials;

– biotechnology of mineral raw-material enrichment and environment protection;

– physical and colloid chemistry of disperse materials; principles, methods and technologies of their use in industry; macrokinetics and fractal properties of disperse systems;

– physicochemical mechanics of natural and technogeneous disperse systems.

The Institute proposes for cooperative upgrading or commercialization:

– complex technologies for processing primary and secondary ash-containing raw materials;

– production of new types of catalysts, sorbents, filtering materials, biomineral fertilizers and fodder additives from natural disperse minerals;

– decontamination of technogeneous and natural waters from heavy metals and radionuclides;

– a technology for decontaminating soils and waters of the Chornobyl NPP;

– production of polyelectrolytic pH-sensitive hydrogels with immobilized biomedical preparations;

– new methods for controlling colloidochemical properties of disperse mineral systems: methods and practical solutions;

– materials for medical purposes based on hydrogel systems, including prolonged-action preparations.
