Main study areas:

– theory of selective sorption, scientific fundamentals for synthesizing sorbents with predetermined properties;

– development of novel sorption technologies for medicine, environmental protection and to be used in separation, segregation, concentration and deep purification of substances;

– development of theoretical fundamentals, production of catalysts and catalytic processes, based on utilization of inorganic and carbon materials.

Science schools of the Institute:

1. Sorption and fine inorganic synthesis (V. V. Strelko, Dr. Chem. Sc., NAS academician)

2. Sorbents for medicine (N. T. Kartel, Dr. Chem. Sc., NAS corresponding member)

3. Environment-friendly catalysis (V. M. Vlasenko, Dr. Chem. Sc., NAS corresponding member)

4. Heterogeneous catalytic oxidation processes (V. O. Zazhigalov, Dr. Chem. Sc.)

5. Sorption technologies for deep purification (Yu. O. Tarasenko, Dr. Chem. Sc., Prof.)
