The Institute carries out research into:

– physics of the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with matter;

– physics of low-dimensional systems, microelectronics and nanoelectronics;

– optoelectronics and solar energy;

– physical and technological studies of materials used for sensors, infrared and UHF- equipment.

The following science schools work at the Institute:

semiconductor physics; solid state theory; optoelectronics; optics and spectroscopy; surface physics and microelectronics.

– PLASMON SPR-5 surface plasmon resonance spectrometer;

– ‘Multienzymesensor MES-3’ device for detecting organic pesticides and heavy metal ions in aqueous solutions;

– ‘ISPT-1’ instrument for analyzing ion content in liquid mixtures;

– ‘ÀÑÊ-1’ analyzer of body cells in milk;

– a multichannel optical rotating joint;

– a portable infrared thermal imager for medical diagnostics and for heat-loss control in industry and public utility service;

– master disks and matrices of optical discs;

– PPR4m biosensor;

– MC-1 digital manometer;

– integrated pressure transducers (absolute, differential and excessive);

– a pressure transformer with distributing diaphragm;

– ‘BAR’ instrument for measuring atmospheric pressure;

– an instrument for measuring wind velocity and direction;

– DKS-02K ‘Cadmiy’ professional individual dosimeter;

– a pulse solid-state laser;

– multilayered dielectric mirrors;

– interference filters;

– achromatic anti-reflective coatings;

– optical elements for laser equipment;

– sensors of low (cryogenic) temperatures;
