Principal research areas:

– integrated studies of pottery handicraft as a phenomenon of human activities; fundamental research in ceramology, aimed at new knowledge on patterns of pottery origins and development, its role and place in the traditional way of life, in the present-day culture of Ukrainians and other nations of the world; applied scientific studies to obtain new information on clays and earthenware as well as to use it for increasing the national wealth of Ukraine.

The Branch proposes for cooperation:

– a system of special methods of pottery studies;

– comparative studies of traditional pottery crafts of Ukraine and other countries.
