The Institute does research into:

– hydromechanics of environment;

– wave generation and propagation in liquids and gases;

– streamlining of near-surface and underwater bodies; hydrobionics;

– dynamics of stratified and multiphase flows.

The following science schools work at the Institute:

– wave and vortex hydromechanics;

– high-velocity hydromechanics;

– problems of hydrodynamics and heat-and-mass transfer in multiphase media.

Proposals for joint finalization:

– certification of computer respirosonographic analyzer of breathing sounds;

– commercialization of developed designs of drainage with fibrous filters, intended for melioration systems and hydraulic structures in the zone of irrigated agriculture of Ukraine.
