Principal study areas of the Institute are:

– theoretical and applied problems of programming systems and technologies, models and techniques of software engineering, quality evaluation, standardization and certification of software systems;

– formal-logic foundations, methods and facilities for constructing intelligent information data systems and knowledge banks;

– mathematics and software for constructing complicated computer systems.

Science school ‘Programming theory and methods’ functions at the Institute.

The Institute proposes for commercialization:

– a technology to support expert methodology of decision-making and substantiation, that provides automated support to processes of organization, maintenance and analysis of results in expert decision-making concerning granting advantage to one or several alternative objects from a considered set;

– a technology to support developing intellectual information systems of content-analytical information study, that provides support to processes of the analysis, generalization and reproduction of the content of large volumes of textual information for maintenance of information-and-analytical activities of state-power bodies. It relies on advanced software-hardware means of processing text contents, using the predetermined model of knowledge and facts found in texts and their fragments;

– a GIS-technology to study the environmental effect on human health; it is intended for evaluating environment pollution, human population health and risks of human diseases;

– a computer technology of comprehensive personality studies, that provides support to diagnostics, forecast of controlling the functional condition of people under intense emotional loads and overloads;

– ‘GART’ automatic information system intended for supporting daily activities of the overall infrastructure of State Border Service of Ukraine in providing reliable security of nation’s state border.
